I strive to maintain a turnaround of 2 weeks or less for edge-to-edge quilting. Custom quilts are all unique and thus so is their turnaround time. If you have a specific deadline, be sure to let me know! I charge an additional fee of $50 for RUSH quilting and this service is only eligible for edge-to-edge quilting.
I am 100% hand-guided, no computer. I do free-motion, pantographs, and ruler-work so there may be slight variances from one project to the next.
The longarm is 12’ wide. I can quilt king size quilts. For large quilts, the smallest direction of your quilt TOP cannot be more than 126” with a backing width of 132”. Alternatively, the smallest top I can do, well, that depends. It is most economical to quilt multiple small items at one time with a shared, larger backing (think pillow shams, placemats and table runners). I charge a minimum quilting fee for edge-to-edge of $50 and for custom $75. These are not additional charges to your estimate.
Quilt backs need to be 8-10" larger than the top in both directions, i.e. a 50" x 70" top needs a backing size of 58" x 78" or larger. If using flannel backing, I highly suggest pre-washing it before constructing your back. Flannel shrinks at a different rate than batting and traditional quilting cotton so it is best to address this prior to longarm quilting. I don't mind a couple seams in the backing but excessively pieced backs can be turned down at my discretion as they are oftentimes not flat or square and cause tension and other unsightly issues.
If you are providing the batting, I ask for it to be at least 6" larger than the top in both directions to account for alignment and shifting, i.e. a 50" x 70" top needs a batting of 56" x 76" or larger. Do not pin or baste the layers together. Provide the top, batting, and backing folded as separate pieces.
Yes, I work on mailed quilts frequently. Please contact me with a photo before sending a quilt. I charge based on the weight for return shipping (USA only) which includes insurance and tracking. I ship with USPS Priority Mail. Save $$ and send multiple quilts at once! Remember, I have high quality batting options on rolls so you don't have to send it. Please make sure quilts are free of pet dander and smoke smells before shipping. The "Book A Quilt" button link must be completed before sending a quilt so that I may contact you and have the details for thread preferences and quilting design choice. Any other notes I might need can be written there as well. I suggest putting your quilt in a plastic bag and tie it off to avoid it getting wet should it meet with any weather along its journey. I work from home so it's very safe to ship to me. I will let you know once I receive your quilt(s) so you don't need to worry about it.

I currently accept cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, ACH and debit card electronic payments. I ask for a 50% deposit with quilt drop-off (mailed or in-person handoff) and the balance to be paid upon completion at pick-up or delivery. Quilts to be mailed will not be mailed until final payment has been received. After work is completed, I will send the invoice by email. I really do appreciate timely payments as that enables me to mail your project(s) back to you right away.

Yes, I do bind quilts. Please include the yardage for binding with the quilt at drop off (or mailing) and let me know how you would like it finished. I prefer to do a double machine bind with 2.5” strips (cut size). This service is billed by the hour.
Approximate charge for a 60"x70" throw size, make and attach binding to both sides for a finished quilt: $50
Yes! If you prefer to quilt on your domestic machine or are a hand-quilter, you can buy your batting through me. Whether it be a roll or a precut size or just a cut off of the rolls I stock in my studio, just ask for a quote. I work with Winline and Quilter’s Dream so anything they offer (and have in stock), I can get for you.
For thread, I work with Fil-Tec/Hab+Dash. They are the makers of Glide, Affinity, PremoSoft, and Luminary. I would be happy to add your order to one of my own if needed.
